When is the best time to buy a bike?

Now, I wouldn't take this as doctrine or anything, but overall the best time to buy a bike is right now!! November and December are great times to buy bikes because the season is over and a lot of people want to sell the bike they have so that the next season they can upgrade. Now we don't have the time or money to just buy a bike and sell it and buy one the next year and continue this cycle. If you are in the same boat, then now is the time to buy! You can go to bike shops in the area and another great place is KSL.com. It doesn't seem like it but they have some great deals. My husband just bought a 2010 bike for a great deal just because it was the end of the season. Some deals are so good they are almost too good to be true!! Like I said, I'm not saying that this is the only time to look, but during the fall, it is a great time to buy a bike. Sometimes it is hard because you have to wait until Spring to use it, but when that time comes, with the money you could save now, it would be totally worth it!!

    I found this post quite interesting, mostly because if someone asked me "when is the best time to buy a bike?" I would have no idea, but Decemeber and November make a lot of sense. It also makes me wonder what cyclists do during the winter months. Do they put the bikes away for a few months, only ride on paved roads when the weather allows, or is terrain biking not completely out of the question. Hmmm...

    This whole blog is awesome, but I mostly enjoy how much I can learn just by reading all of your information! I never knew how much went into bike riding.. especially like when the best time to buy a bike is. You seem very educated in this subject and I am very glad that you shared your knowledge with all of us!

    I know that bikes can be expensive. But I didn’t now how! My nephew who trains for a triathlon bought a bike for $8,000!!! This is so crazy. I mean you can almost buy a car with this much money. But I know, the same in running. The most expensive gear (clothing and shoes) is usually the best. But I mean a bike for so much? if you buy a car that is expensive, like a Mercedes it is fast in has lots of luxury. But with a bike you still have to push the pedals by yourself
